The Throat Chakra

Clipped_image_20250924_232840.png

After grounding, passion, fire, and love come expression — the gift of voice. The Throat Chakra, Vishuddha, meaning “especially pure,” rests at the centre of the neck, where breath becomes sound and thought becomes word. To ancient peoples, speech was sacred power — sound itself was creation. Its guardian, the Dolphin, embodies intelligence, playfulness, and communication. In Vedic myth, Vishnu appeared as the dolphin-like Matsya to guide humanity through a great flood, while Polynesian cultures saw dolphins as protectors and messengers across the sea. In Greece, they were companions of Apollo, God of music and poetry. The dolphin’s sonar echoes Vishuddha’s essence: pure, clear communication that bridges distance and brings harmony.

Location

Geographically, Vishuddha belongs to the oceans and great waterways — where dolphins travel and sound carries farthest. For coastal peoples, communication was life itself: calling across waves, singing to gods for safe passage, and telling stories that preserved wisdom. The dolphin, joyful and intelligent, symbolised truth expressed freely and playfully.

Ancestrally, the throat chakra connects to storytellers, singers, poets, and leaders — the voices that shaped culture. In India, divine mantras were spoken long before they were written; in Africa, griots preserved history through song; and among islanders, chants guided navigation across seas. Vishuddha lived in every act of speaking truth and sharing knowledge.

When balanced, the voice flows with clarity and compassion — truth is spoken and heard. When blocked, silence, fear, or false words take hold. To heal it is to live like the dolphin — expressive, free, and pure in communication. Vishuddha reminds us that words are sacred currents of creation, shaping the reality we live in.

The colour blue reflects the clarity of open skies and the depths of clear water. To the ancients, blue was rare and precious, often linked to the heavens and divine truth. It symbolises honesty, openness, and the vastness of expression. Blue energy in Vishuddha reminds us that words are not just tools, but bridges: they can heal or harm, uplift or destroy, depending on their purity.

Frequency

Clipped_image_20250924_232840.png

The frequency of 741 Hz is tied to this chakra, resonating with cleansing, truth, and awakening. Just as the dolphin’s call cuts sharply through the ocean, this vibration cuts through lies, confusion, and stagnation, creating a clear channel for self-expression. Across cultures, chanting, song, and prayer were ways of cleansing the spirit: Vedic mantras in India, call-and-response songs in Africa, sea shanties and hymns among coastal peoples. All carried the power of vibration to unite voices and spirits.
